Have you ever heard a message that rang so true, that you felt compelled to capture it in writing so that you could go back to it again and again?
That’s how it was for me when I heard Brené Brown‘s definition of mid-life.
“Mid-life is the point in life when the universe grabs you by the shoulders and tells you, “I’m not f ‘ ing around! Use the gifts you were given!”
Her words were exactly the nudge I’ve needed. I’ve known deep within that the gifts I’ve learned through my training and work with patients in addition to lessons learned through my own struggles balancing it all are meant to be shared. So here goes. I’ve been teaching and refining my Smooth Sailing Life Nautical Metaphor for nearly two decades and will roll it out on this web site.
I challenge you to dig in. To fully see and be grateful for the gifts within you. To understand how the difficult times in your life may have shaped you for your life calling and then to strategize how to craft the life of your dreams so that when you reflect on your life, back, you’ll smile and be pleased with how you’ve touched the world in a positive way, leaving it in a better place because you’ve lived.
